In this poignant coming-of-age graphic novel, high schooler Kim comes to grip with life in the wake of a fellow teen’s suicide. Her best friend is drifting away, and Kim is hopelessly in love with her English teacher, Ms. Archer (who seems to love her back!). Worse, all the phony girls at school think Kim's suicidal just because she's different.

Skim has beautifully spare and wryly humorous writing, fully rounded characters, and gorgeous brushy illustrations. Highly recommended for teens and adults.
